46 viewsThe weekend of August 4 & 5, 2007 found us in the town of Brian Head, Utah. We camped 18 miles away at Panguitch Lake, and rode the bikes for about 20 miles of downhill trails at the Brian Head resort. Our 1st ride up the ski (bike) lift.
34 viewsFree range sheep on the drive to the resort, Saturday morning.
33 viewsView from the lift up the main slope.
39 viewsWe joined the "Wild @ Heart" group of men from our church in Vegas- Canyon Ridge Christian Church.
35 viewsWith a little speed, this was a nice floater! I think this is Mike.
37 viewsThis is on the Timberline Trail, near the North edge of the resort grounds.
26 viewsWhen the snow melts in spring, small creeks form. They put bridges over the dry creek beds for easier crossing.
82 viewsThe worst injury of the day! Black diamond trails without full face helmet = bloodied face! Scott kept all his teeth, though.
32 viewsBriar enjoyed this trail, but her favorite was the "Color Country" Trail.
35 viewsRiding the lift again. Each bike gets a lift chair. You arrive at the top, jump off the lift, then wait for your bike to come behind you.
37 viewsThe Wild @ Heart mens group at the top of the lift. I think 2 guys were still on the lift, so we had about 17 guys, and Briar.
38 viewsReady for another downhill run!
45 viewsA quick adjustment on the trail. As you can see, there was plenty of mud and water to splash through!
41 viewsSwimming too, if you count the DEEP mud puddles along the top of the slopes! Enough to almost cover a bicycle laying on its side!
47 viewsThese guys weren't with our group, but they were fun to watch! IIRC, this particular jump didn't end well for this brave soul!
37 viewsPart of Color Country trail.
36 viewsBriar having fun!
34 viewsCresting a short hill on Color Country.
34 viewsAttacking a quick downhill sweeper on Color Country.
36 viewsSome fun swoopy sections on Color Country Trail.
31 viewsThere were steep sections where you had to drag your butt on the back tire to keep from flipping forward. Those were my favorite!
37 viewsBriar attacks a turn.
31 viewsMany of the fast curves were banked, and you could lean hard into them.
33 viewsOnly 1/2 way down Color Country, still a great view of the valley and the pond that they use for snow-making water.
